WHO WE ARE?

 
ELECTROPERU S.A. is a state-owned company under private law, whose shares as share transfer agreement dated March 27, 2013, signed by the Consolidated Pension Reserve Fund (FCR) and FONAFE, ownership of 14.29% of the share capital of ELECTROPERU SA belongs to FONAFE and 85.71% corresponds to the FCR, which are administered by the FONAFE.

 
Its main objective is to dedicate itself to the generation activities, transmission by the secondary system of ownership and electricity sale, in order to ensure timely supply, sufficient, guaranteed and economic of the energy demand.

POWER PLANTS

 
ELECTROPERU S.A. has two hydroelectric plants, which make up the Mantaro Hydroelectric Complex, with an installed capacity of 1008 MW and a thermal plant located in the department of Tumbes with an installed capacity of 18 MW. Mantaro Hydroelectric Complex, is the main country's generation center that supplies 18.3% of the demand of the National Interconnected System (SEIN) and 15% of the power.

 
The Mantaro Hydroelectric Complex exploits the difference of 1000 meters produced in the first of the two curves formed by the Mantaro river in its course to the Amazon River basin.

 

It comprises two hydropower cascade:​
  • "Hydroelectric Santiago Antunez de Mayolo - SAM" with 798 MW of installed capacity.​
  • "Hydroelectric Restitution - RON", with 210 MW of installed power. The second Power Plant takes turbinate SAM waters.​
